Anders has a broad practice, with a particular focus on public law, regulatory and criminal matters. Among other things, he has acted in a range of complex public inquiries and inquests; employment, discrimination and work health and safety matters; environmental prosecutions; and administrative law proceedings.
Before joining the bar, Anders worked in commercial litigation at Allens, in employment law at Hall Payne, and in the Inquiries and Criminal Law practice groups of the Crown Solicitor’s Office. Notably, Anders worked on the team assisting Justice Catherine Holmes with the conduct of the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry, and the State Coroner of NSW with the Inquest into the deaths arising from the Lindt Café siege.
Anders has a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours from the University of Queensland, along with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology). Anders was awarded a number of academic prizes during his studies and was the Valedictorian of his graduating class at the TC Beirne School of Law.
Anders speaks French and Spanish, having undertaken intensive studies in France, Spain and several Latin American countries.
