Andrew Naylor is a leading junior counsel in the practice areas of common law and personal injury, class actions, inquiries and inquests, and human rights.
Andrew has a keen interest in medical negligence as part of his common law and personal injury practice. He has appeared in some of the largest and most complex personal injury class action litigation in Australia, including product liability proceedings brought against the manufacturers of medical devices for treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence, and proceedings brought against the owners and charterers of the Ruby Princess for personal injuries and deaths from COVID-19 during a voyage from Australia to New Zealand in March 2020. Andrew regularly appears in intentional tort matters.
Andrew was Counsel Assisting the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, has appeared as Counsel Assisting the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) and appears as Counsel Assisting at coronial inquests. He has appeared for numerous witnesses called to appear before ICAC, coronial inquests and the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
Andrew regularly appears in matters involving contraventions of human rights, unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment.

Prior to coming to the Bar in 2002, Andrew was Commission Solicitor to the Police Integrity of Commission of NSW, a solicitor with the Royal Commission into the NSW Police Service and a legal officer with the Australian Law Reform Commission.
