Deborah Dinnen was appointed as a part-time Senior Member of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal in 2016, and presides over matters in their Administrative and Equal Opportunity Division and Occupational Division.
As a result of that appointment, Deborah is currently limited in accepting briefs to the areas of Inquests and Inquiries, Employment and Industrial law, and Work Health and Safety.
Deborah has acted in a number of coronial inquests in recent years, protecting the interests of healthcare practitioners and other interested parties.
Deborah has extensive experience in employment and industrial law, acting for both employees and employers in Federal and State jurisdictions. Her particular specialties include industrial prosecutions, litigation arising from the intersect between employment law and discrimination, bullying and harassment, misconduct allegations and workplace investigations.
Deborah is also experienced in Work Health & Safety prosecutions and is an author of “The New Work Health and Safety Legislation: A Practical Guide”, published by Federation Press in 2013.
Until she was called to the Bar in March 2011, Deborah worked at the Australian Government Solicitor for over five years and prior to that was Tipstaff to the Honourable Justice Marks in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission.
