Shawanah accepts briefs to advise and appear in all areas of law, particularly criminal law, regulatory matters, coronial inquests, and professional negligence and discipline.
Shawanah has 13 years’ experience as a Solicitor Advocate across NSW, NT and ACT, where she worked for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and Aboriginal Legal Aid and conducted jury trials, appeals and sentencing proceedings for serious indictable matters.
Shawanah has previously worked as a consultant for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Jakarta, Indonesia and holds a Master of Laws in Criminal Prosecutions (with Distinction).
